THE RIPENED SQUELCH
Writer: D Z Greene, various A5- 54 pages - limited to 50 copies I enjoyed these comics quite a bit, thanks mostly to Greene's appealing line. He puts to use a thin, delicate line (almost scratchy at times) to create funny, rubbery figures with oversized fingers. Much of his humor depends on his drawings looking funny, but he doesn't oversell it by making his line too rubbery. He's wise to keep that restraint, considering how very silly his stories are. The "Chip Buckminster" strips are about a space explorer who either does something stupid or has something horrible happen to him. This mini certainly made me want to see more by this artist. “David Ziggy Greene really made me laugh.

Caught in a flash flood, two old moon shiners, Clea and Willy, find themselves taking refuge on the roof of Willy's bait shop. Scarecrow has always stood in the same field, fixed on the same horizon. Watching a crow flying overhead, fear falls to fascination and a friendship is born. Crow flying far and wide each day to return with tales and trinkets from an outside world in turn for seed. Yet Scarecrows curiosity is not easily quenched, answers leading to more questions, culminating in dramatic results.
