"Great things coming from this lad — great things!" "Made with equal parts frantic energy and thoughtful construction, Greene’s collection manages the lofty task of being gross, funny and charming all at once." ZIP CITY COMICS Writer: Dan White A5- 20 pages A collection of three stories featuring Robots, Summer & Hell Featuring “Last Summer”, which takes places in that limnal space between town and country. With art reminiscent of Jeff Lemire’s bucolic sketchiness, it creates something of a chilling tale of the death of social responsibilities and the savage nature of childhood. - The Comics Journal "End of the world stuff with a twist and very nice, very simple and effective storytelling." - Richard Bruton @ FB international

IMPORTANT COMICS Writer: Dina Kelberman A6- 42 pages This is the first collection of Dina's weeklyish comics, previously available for viewing at importantcomics.com. She is a member of the Wham City collective in Baltimore. "Kelberman works in a number of different media, with comics as the seeming repository for her most spontaneous work. Most of the strips are small observations, arguments, non-sequiturs, jokes and bits of absurdism (like a pair of shorts and socks being mean to a t-shirt). While it seems clear that part of the original effect of reading her comics is a visceral one, with tiny pages, she manages to keep that "what-is-this?" feeling up on page after page. Even as the reader settles into Kelberman's technique and style, she still manages to surprise and delight on every page." - Rob Clough @ High Low |
BIRDSONG SONGBIRD Writer: Naniiebim, W Kirkby, N Stuart, D O'connell, S McIntyre & WJC A5 - 80 pages "With just 6 strips in it’s 80 pages, some self-contained stories, some opening entries in serials, this is one anthology where every strip has room to tell a story, and all six make fine use of the space available, making Songbird yet another classy book that you really should be looking at." - Richard Bruton @ Forbidden Planet International |
PUBLISH YOU Writer: Various 240mm x 170mm - 80 pages "Publish You is an 80 page, full colour collection by more than forty self publishing artists and it’s chock full of comics, illustrations, text pieces, poetry – pretty much the whole range of comics, fanzine and handmade scene in the UK." - FP International |

BEDSIT JOURNAL 1 Writer: Richard Cowdry, Peter Lally & more A4- 28 pages. 'For the discerning reader' "Just picked up a copy of your tawdry little magazine, from a shop called 'Gosh' in London, and found it deeply amusing. I larfed till I barfed! 'Bedsit Life', 'Psycho City', and especially 'Fashionable Fascism' all brilliant - in a slash-your-wrists kind of way. Keep up the good work." - |
BEDSIT JOURNAL 2
Writer: Richard Cowdry, Peter Lally & more A4- 36 pages. "Just to let you know that I came across the issue No2 of Bedsit Journal, it's a great work! I really enjoyed reading your stuff, and the magazine in general... There's not so much interesting new stuff around, so it was really refreshing to read it (How to Succeed at Failure works great!)." - Alexander Zograf, Author of 'Regards from Serbia'
|
BEDSIT JOURNAL 3 Writer: Richard Cowdry, Peter Lally & more A4- 40 pages "The comics inside are loaded with clever dialogue that's sometimes hilarious and always entertaining. The cartoonists are happy to smirk at authority and the status quo, but their characters' acerbic banter fears no one. The struggling artist, the bedsit denizen, the office wage earner, and the pub crawler are all poked and probed with equal sarcastic candor." - Poopsheet Foundation Edited by Richard Cowdry ('New Talent' award winner, Sierre Bande Dessinee Festival 2002) and featuring work by himself plus Peter Lally, Bird, Hannah Glickstein & more, this comic will please underground comix fans, alternative comics readers, and curious outsiders and misfits alike. |
